WORKS OF MERCY AND CHURCH SERVICE

And the king will say to them in reply, “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”  ~ Matthew 25:40

As followers of Christ, we are called to put our faith into action by serving others. We are called to sacrifice our time, talent and treasure to bring Christ to others. We are the voice of God for those who have lost hope and need to remember that God loves them. We are called to protect the vulnerable, those who may seem like the least in the kingdom of God and yet Christ regards them with tender love and compassion.

It is important to teach this to our Confirmation candidates and that is why as part of our two year Confirmation program we require that each student do a minimum of 10 hours in Confirmation 1 and a minimum of 10 hours in Confirmation 2. These hours are to be directly related to the Works of Mercy and Church service.

Pre-approval by Religious Education office is required for service performed at locations other than St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish. Household chores and responsibilities, caring for siblings or any family members DOES NOT QUALIFY. Student may not be paid for any project.

For Confirmation 1 a minimum of 10 hours must be completed PRIOR to registering for Confirmation 2 classes. And a minimum of 10 hours for Confirmation 2 must be completed PRIOR to Confirmation.

For pre-approval of service performed at locations other than St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, please contact our office at 954-345-7071 or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
