Altar Servers assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. They provide the priest with the water and wine cruets and the hand washing bowl at the proper times. They ring the bells and assist the priest with the Offertory gifts, as well as other duties.
Altar Servers are placed on a team and are scheduled to serve Mass once a month and an occasional Holy Day service. Training is usually held twice a year in the church.
Altar Servers should arrive in the Sacristy at least 15 to 20 minutes before Mass. Servers are expected to conduct themselves in a reverent and respectful manner during the liturgy.
