If you have not entered into a civil marriage, if the celebration is not a convalidation of an existing civil marriage, you must purchase a Marriage License in the County Clerk’s Office. The marriage license is valid for 60 days from the date of purchase. We suggest that you purchase your license 30 days prior to the wedding and that it be brought into the office at that time. Keep in mind that the State of Florida requires that there be a three day waiting period for obtaining the Marriage License. If you fail to provide a valid marriage license prior to the day of marriage or a valid license is not available on the intended date, the celebration will have to be postponed until you obtain the license from the civil authorities.

You are about to embark on a journey to a new life, a new you, and a new us. This journey begins with preparation. We are looking forward to working with you in your decision to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. 

Planning a lifelong commitment to each other through the Sacrament of Marriage comes with some challenges. Therefore our ministry to you is to make the time of preparation not just as smooth as possible but very much meaningful. Therefore we ask that you carefully read the Marriage Brochure provided by the Archdiocese of Miami. This brochure will give you an overall picture of your preparation process at any parish within the Archdiocese. After having read the brochure and gained vital information about the process, please complete the Marriage Registration Form specific to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

This completed form will provide us with the information that we need to start the process. Once we receive and review the form submission, we will contact you. We know that planning a wedding is exciting. We ask that you coordinate dates with us to ensure availability before making any commitments or arrangements elsewhere.

Weddings at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton are celebrated at 2 pm on Saturdays based on availability.

1. Your freedom to marry has to be established by our office.
2. Your willingness to participate in marriage preparation programs mandated by the Archdiocese of Miami has to be established, and/or the completed marriage preparation file has been received at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton from another parish.
3. A member of our staff will meet with you to review the liturgical text options available to you. These texts include readings, prayers, texts for the blessing of the rings, the exchange of consent or marriage vows, etc. They cannot be replaced by your own words.
4. If you would like a priest or deacon to witness your marriage other than St. Elizabeth Ann Seton clergy, the priest or deacon must send a letter to our pastor requesting delegation required by Canon Law to lawfully witness your marriage.
5. If you wish to have your marriage videotaped or photographed, you are welcome to hire a professional. They must follow the proper protocol of conducting themselves within the Church property.

Wedding rehearsal

The rehearsal is arranged and usually takes place the day before the wedding ceremony. The time for the rehearsal is set to accommodate the overall arrangements. A team of parishioners will assist and guide you through the wedding ceremony. We ask kindly that you are ON TIME for the rehearsal and that all participating members of the wedding party are present at the rehearsal, including the bride and groom, maid of honor, bridesmaids, flower girls, best man, groomsmen, ring bearers, lectors, and parents.

Wedding Music

1. The Organist/Pianist employed by SEAS must be used.
2. Other musicians (i.e., vocalists, trumpeter, violinist, etc.) may be used to enhance the liturgy, to do instrumental pieces, or to accompany the soloist. The Director of Music will assist the couple in this matter.
3. Fees for music are to be handled by the bride/groom directly with the Director of Music.
