Due to the Coronavirus the Prayer Blanket Group will not be meeting until further notice.
“Faith is not believing that God can. It is knowing God will!”
“Bella’s Blanket of Blessings” outreach ministry was created in 2008 by Kim Rodrigues-Torres because of the many people who covered her niece Bella in prayer.
Bella’s Blanket of Blessings ministry makes lap-sized fleece blankets that are given to people who are sick or are going through extremely difficult times. Our prayer blankets are made, prayed over and blessed. We pray that this ministry will bring all those who receive these prayer blankets comfort, peace and hope in their suffering at this difficult time in their lives.
This act of sacrifice before the Lord transforms the blanket into a prayer blanket whose very threads become interwoven with pleas for healing and blessings upon the recipients. When they use these blankets, they will know they are not alone and that God is with them. That there are people who care for them and are praying for God’s healing hand to bless them.
If you would like to get involved in making these blankets, the prayer blanket ministry meets monthly in the Administrative Meeting Room. No skill is necessary, just a prayerful and willing heart!
Bella's Story
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” ~ 2 Timothy 4:7
Bella Rodriguez-Torres was a precious little girl who, in 2007, at the age of 4, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. She was paralyzed and had eight tumors throughout her body. The doctors said she probably wouldn’t walk again nor make it to her 5th birthday. However, Bella broke paralysis and lived to celebrate her 10th birthday. For almost 6 years she tolerated endless rounds of chemo and radiation treatments, went through experimental trials and endured 10 surgeries. Her courageous example of love and faith brought many to prayer and to a deeper conversion in Christ.
God gave Bella a very special mission and she completed that mission on this earth! We prayed for a miracle only to realize that Bella was the miracle. Bella went to her heavenly home on May 28th, 2013. Her life, love, faith and courageous battle brought hope and strength to many and for this we have been blessed. She has touched more people in her young life than many of us will in a lifetime.
This beautiful little girl with limited vocabulary, developmental delays and a horrific cancer managed to touch so many lives and change so many hearts, there is only one explanation…God.
