Recognizing that each individual is created by God, the Archdiocese of Miami is committed to the safety and well-being of its children and vulnerable adults and implements procedures to minimize risk and barriers and to build and foster a culture of safe environment.In accordance with the Archdiocese, the VIRTUS program on child safety and awareness, is provided to us and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from abuse. The scheduled lesson is provided every year for all grades. For more information on the Safe Environment program visit www.virtus.org.

Archdiocese of Miami’s Safety Program
“Grooming - Recognizing Risky Adult Behavior”This lesson helped students learn simple rules about what to do and how to react when someone’s touch is confusing, scary or makes the child or young person feel uncomfortable. This program establishes basic guidelines for working together with parents, children and young people to make certain which friends and other adults in their environment can be trusted to act safely and in the best interest of each child or young person.
A copy of the program is available in the Religious Education office.
Any questions regarding the Safe Environment Program should be directed to the RE Office.
Please reinforce personal safety policies with your child. Encourage them to tell a trusted adult if anyone approaches them online or in person in a way that threatens them or makes them feel uncomfortable.
