What is the St. Vincent de Paul Society?
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul fosters hope by providing spiritual, emotional and material assistance on a person-to-person basis to those living in poverty, the lonely and the forgotten in our communities across the United States.
In what ways do we help those in need locally? We provide assistance to create a systemic change in the lives of those in need. Such assistance can include food assistance, housing assistance, utility bill assistance and assistance in applying for state and local programs.
How can we afford to help those in need?
The St. Vincent de Paul Society runs solely on donations to our poor boxes located in the Church and Office.
We couldn’t do it without you!
We believe...
In the dignity of the human person...
In the identification of Jesus with the poor...
In the preferential option for the poor...
In Jesus the Evangelizer and Servant of the poor...
In growth in intimacy with Jesus, which is a lifelong process...
In poverty of spirit which is the primary beatitude...
In that our primary concern is charity and justice...
In that prayer is essential, personal and communal...
In the virtue of humility: personal and corporate...
In the virtue of charity, inside and outside the Society...
In Divine Providence...
In Friendship...
In Community...
And in Simplicity.
